Lanterns

Orangeries provide a beautiful alternative to the traditional conservatory.

Our exquisite Orangeries are designed with solid build columns and a partial solid ceiling. We couple this with a lantern roof which allows light to flood into your home. These fantastic structures are a well balanced mix of traditional build extensions and conservatories to dramatically enhance your home.

Wherever obtaining additional space in your property is a concern, an Orangery could well be the smartest choice.

Not to be confused with Conservatories, the Orangeries that we at Bergson & Eaton provide should be seen as glass extensions of your home. More often than not they would effortlessly incorporate the original architectural style of your property, creating a seamless blend between home and Orangery.

Don't by any means let the previous sentence impede or limit the way you want your orangery to look. It is becoming more and more popular to construct an Orangery that provides stark contrast to the original property style resulting in a striking look and a more contemporary feel. The perfect approach when looking to breathe new life into a property.

If you wish to enhance the overall look and feel of your home, an Orangery should definitely top your list of home improvements.

Our Orangeries can be used in a much wider variety of ways than your standard conservatory, from domestic extensions incorporating dining rooms, living rooms and kitchens.

They are now also commonly utilised in commercial settings such as nursing homes, pubs and restaurants due to the more 'robust' construction when compared with the higher glass to brick ratio of a conservatory.

Because each project is completely bespoke and unique to your property, our Orangeries are offered with endless amounts of customisation. You can choose how you would like every detail of the Orangery to be so that it accurately mirrors your vision, style and even personality.

When it comes to our luxury Orangeries, there is no need for compromise, we are only limited by your imagination.

Our design consultants are highly experienced and unrivaled in their knowledge of the best construction methods and materials to suit your vision. They will spend all the time you require of them to produce the design of your choosing.

We believe that a design team should be an extension of your construction team thus ensuring your dream orangery can be built to your level of specification, and crucially, within your budget.

Unfortunately we regularly hear that the initial price people are quoted, and what they are eventually asked to pay, can be two very different things in this industry.Rest assured your only concern will be what to do with your additional space, not whether your project is hindered by previously unseen costs.

It is for good reason that over 85% of our business comes from existing customers and referrals.

Being an Orangery specialist for nearly half a century means that our Orangery extensions are built using traditional methods and not using cheaper, less robust 'orangery kits'. Not only does this ensure that each build can be tailored to the finest detail as previously mentioned but this also enhances the energy efficiency, life span, security and also the future value of the build.

We like to take the burden of any potential stresses that can occur during work of this kind. Bergson and Eaton will not only advise you on your requirements for Planning Permission, Building Regulations, Water authority drainage build over agreements and party wall acts but can also undertake all of these applications on your behalf.

The foundations and walls are constructed by our highly experienced builders meeting building regulations as required. We would always try to match as closely as possible to your existing brickwork or stonework to make a seamless transition from the existing property to the new extension. All walls and floors are fully insulated to the highest specification ensuring an energy efficient build.

We have a vast array of window and door frames to choose from to install in your new Orangery. These include, uPVC, Timber, Aluminium or Timber alternative profiles and come in a huge choice of styles and colour. These are all available in ‘A’ Rating which further insulates your extension to the highest level.

The roof is either constructed using traditional methods and materials incorporating steels and timber joists, or with a venetian style where no brick piers are required. Here we use a bespoke box aluminium sub-frame structure which is supported by our market leading fluted pilaster posts to create the classic orangery look.

We also work with only the finest Lanterns available, which locate on the roof structure, including uPVC, Timber or Aluminium finishes depending on your taste and budget.

The final decoration around the roof structure is another area where your creative juices can flow. Always totally bespoke and designed to suit your needs, we can incorporate standard fascia and gutter, an all in one Aluminium fascia gutter or a combination of both. Dentil Moulding is also an option and can be fitted to replicate more traditional styling and detail.

With over 40 years experience designing and creating the finest luxury Orangeries throughout OxfordshireBuckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and the Home Counties you can always rely on Bergson & Eaton to complete your Orangery installation with minimum fuss and maximum expertise.
